Barrio Grains Pizza Dough

This is a simple pizza dough that can be made a day ahead for delicious homemade pizza. Add your favorite toppings and you're set for dinner!

Pizza Dough

Barrio Pizza Blend Flour

Ingredients

Makes 3(10-inch) or 4(8-inch) pizzas

Barrio Pizza Blend Flour 4 Cups (500g) (plus more for kneading)
Water (about 80 degrees F) 1 1/2 Cups (325-350g)
Yeast 1 packet (10g)
Kosher Salt 1 1/2 Tbsp (12g)
Corn Meal or Semolina Flour (for sprinkling on baking surface) about a Tbsp
Sauce About a 1/4 cup or personal preference.
Toppings Variable
Preparation time About 2 1/2 hours (30 minutes of active time)

Instructions

  1. In large bowl, mix by hand, flour, water, yeast, and salt until no lumps of flour are left. (about 3-5 mins)
  2. Cover and let rest for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Using your hands, mix for 5 minutes in bowl. (a little water on your hands prevents dough from sticking).
  4. Place dough on floured surface and gently knead (use more flour to prevent sticking) for 2 minutes, then form a smooth ball, place back in bowl and cover.
  5. Place bowl in warm area and let rise for 1 hour.
  6. Remove dough from bowl and on floured surface, stretch and fold for about 10 secs.
  7. Let rest for 45 mins.
  8. Divide dough into 3 or 4 equal portions and form each into a ball (at this point the dough can be wrapped in plastic wrap, and refrigerated for up to 24 hours).
  9. Cover with moist kitchen towel and let dough rest for 30 mins. (proof)
  10. Preheat oven to 450 degrees
  11. Sprinkle a little of semolina flour on pizza stone or baking tray so dough will slide off easily after cooked.
  12. Using your hands, flatten out and stretch one ball of the dough out into a 8-10 inch round.
  13. Cover with sauce, cheese, and add favorite toppings.
  14. Bake for 15 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
